The first musical I ever saw was Cats.

It started a loooong obsession with the medium.

A lot of folks don’t have a lot of nice things to say about the production these days but you need to remember, it’s one of the old school musicals. And asides from a couple of updates (the Rum Tum Tugger now has dreadlocks and raps) the current production stays true to form.

The cast is stellar. Delta Goodrem (as Grizabella) didn’t tour the show however Perth audiences are lucky to have the sensational Delia Hannah in the role – a role she has played many times in many productions. Her final ‘Memory’ was worth the price of the ticket alone.

Let the memory, live again.

The UK production of JCS Live Arena Tour opened in Perth this weekend. The show is spectacular with some outstanding performances by Tim Minchin, Mel C, Ben Forster and locals Andrew O’Keefe and Jon Stevens. The production is big and powerful, whilst also manages to keep at 13000+ strong stadium crowd eerily silent during the final scenes.

If you’re on the OZ east coast and don’t yet have tickets, rush now to secure some. This is not to be missed!

I have waited a *long* time to see this musical. And finally the long awaited Perth season allowed me to do so.

The show is fast moving. Fun. Emotional. Camp. Daring. Funny. And of course full of amazing hits from ‘Franki Valli and The Four Seasons’.

The cast is amazing. I loved every minute. Will be going back before the end of the Perth season.
